The Art Bridge classes are presented by Emily Holmes, owner of Emily Holmes Design. Classes take place in her High Bridge art studio, where Emily makes her handcrafted glass gift items. Emily started her business in 2003, and now sells her products to more than 100 stores around the country, from Miami to Kennebunkport to San Francisco.
The studio, a former birdseed factory, was built in the 1800's, and the foundation spans a small creek. When you look out the window, you can see the water running directly beneath your feet.
In this age of imports and mass production, it is inspiring to realize that it is still possible to make a living by creating carefully handcrafted items. Making something by hand is rewarding, relaxing, and provides enjoyment and satisfaction. Even if you don't have the time to become a master craftsman, you can make something beautiful with the pride of knowing that you created it with your own two hands.
That's what The Art Bridge classes are all about. Take an hour or two out of your busy life to relax, learn a new skill, and walk away with a completed piece of art that you can enjoy as a gift for yourself or for someone else.
